Heraeus opens new Platinum Group Metals refinery in South Africa

Northam Platinum’s long term refining partner Heraeus has further strengthened its market presence in the African continent with the opening of its PGM refinery in Port Elizabeth in February. The plant is the result of a collaborative effort between Heraeus, Northam Platinum Limited and the South African Department of Minerals and Energy. Heraeus has been refining concentrates from Northam in Hanau for over 20 years.
